For an endoscopic lift, we make several short incisions hidden within the hairline. We insert a thin tube with a camera (endoscope) to visualize the internal structure. This allows us to release the tissue and secure the brow at a higher position without removing large amounts of skin.
This approach minimizes incision lines and preserves sensation. For patients with significant excess skin or a high hairline, different incisions are used to avoid raising the forehead height further.
After surgery, Dr. Bloch provides the specific instructions you must follow in taking care of the surgical sites to promote faster recovery. Medication is prescribed to reduce pain and infection risks. You will, however, need a longer recovery period and experience more pain, swelling and bruising after the traditional forehead lift than after the endoscopic lift.
