Looking To Increase Your Breast Size??

At Body by Bloch breast augmentation is one of the many cosmetic breast surgeries that we perform. This procedure involves the increment of breasts with silicone or saline filled bags that are surgically placed either over or under the muscle. During your initial consultation with us, we will discuss the benefits of the surgery and its potential risks. Dr. Bloch is a board-certified Chicago plastic surgeon who has successfully carried out many, many, many breasts augmentation surgeries.

What happens during breast augmentation?

Breast augmentation can take from 2 to 6 hours to complete. On your day of surgery, we will take photographs of your breasts and take you to the operation room where you will be given general anesthesia for comfort during the surgery. Next, we will make an inconspicuous incision that will allow the passage of the implant on both sides of your breasts. We may consider making the incision under your nipple, just above your breast crease or in your armpit. We will them place the implant either on your chest muscle or under your breast tissue. Then we will place tiny drains to remove unwanted blood and fluids around your surgical site. The final step is closing of the incisions with stitches or sutures after which your breasts will be dressed with bandages. We highly recommend wearing a surgical bra or compression garment on your breasts to provide support and control swelling.

After surgery, one of our nurses will take you to the recovery room. Once your condition stabilizes, we will discharge you to go home. We normally provide pain pills and antibiotic medication to help control swelling. We will also give you post-operative instructions and schedule your next visit.

What recovery can I expect?

After surgery, you will likely experience pain in your breasts which you can easily control with the prescribed pain medication. Using cold compresses will also reduce breast swelling. We will remove your drains, dressings and stitches within ten days. You need to stay away from strenuous tasks for the next 4 to 6 weeks. You can, however, resume work after about two weeks. After about three months, swelling will disappear, and the incision scar will appear flat but will not disappear permanently. A healthy lifestyle will prolong your results.
