Body Lift – Achieve Your Ideal Weight And Tighten Your Loose Skin

Body Lift – Achieve Your Ideal Weight And Tighten Your Loose Skin

You can consider getting a body lift if you want an improvement or elimination of your excess skin on your stomach, butt or thighs. This cosmetic procedure would be very beneficial if you have lost massive weight that has left you with sagging skin. Cellulite and poor skin elasticity as a result of aging, pregnancy or genetic factors may also be treated with the procedure. Generally, a body lift involves the combination of cosmetic procedures that include a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), butt lift, and thigh lift. The treatment achieves skin tightening, but we may also use liposuction to contour areas not excised for optimal results. At Body by Bloch, in the Chicago metro area, we perform all these procedures in combination under general anesthesia. The procedure has a prolonged recovery and potential side effects that we will discuss with you during your consultation. You can book an consultation with us at www.bodybybloch.com or give us a call at 847-432-0840.

Am I a good body lift candidate?

We will likely consider you for body lift if:

  • You are in good health
  • You don’t smoke
  • You have extremely loose skin on one or multiple areas of your body
  • You have realistic expectations and a positive attitude towards the surgery.

How is body lift recovery like?

After surgery, we will dress your incisions and insert tiny temporary tubes called drains to remove accumulating blood in your surgical area. We will then prescribe pain medication and antibiotics. Post-operative instructions that we issue include resting for the next 6 to 8 weeks. Instructions on how to bath and sleep will also be given. Wearing a compression garment will help in the body contouring process. You should follow your next scheduled visit where we will remove drains, dressings, and stitches. You may go home if your condition has stabilized or have an overnight stay under skilled nursing care given by our staff.

What are body lift risks?

Body lift risks include:

  • Reaction to anesthesia
  • Pain
  • Infection
  • Changes in skin sensation
  • Hematoma (bleeding)
  • Fluid accumulation
  • Poor wound recovery
  • Fat necrosis
  • Scarring
  • Persistent swelling in the legs
  • Deep vein thrombosis
  • Possibility for revisional surgery
  • Skin loss

We will only allow you to sign the consent forms for surgery if you fully understand these risks and if they are acceptable.
