What is Xeomin®?
Xeomin® is an FDA approved prescription medication used to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines).
How does this work?
When you squint or frown, the muscles between your eyebrows contract, causing the skin to furrow and fold. Over time as your skin ages and loses some of its elasticity, these repeated contractions can cause permanent frown lines. Xeomin® acts on nerve endings in muscles to prevent muscle fibers from contracting. By reducing these contractions, this can temporarily reduce forehead lines resulting in younger looking skin.
What can I expect during treatment?
During this injection, which usually takes about 15-20 minutes, it is injected into the muscles in your forehead that cause frown lines between your brows.
When can I expect to see results?
Most patients observe visible smoothing of the forehead lines as early as three to seven days after the treatment. Results typically last about three months.
